Hello everyone,

I'm writing all of you on behalf of Jennifer's 17 year old Niece Jessica Fraire and her family. Jessica and her friend Rosa were hit by a drunk driver on Halloween night while walking home in West Sacramento.

Jessica was officially declared brain dead late Saturday night and her family unselfishly agreed to keep her on life support in order to preserve her organs for donation.

On November 4th, the day of her baby sister Carmen's 3rd birthday Jessica passed away at 6:45 A.M.

Her family has gone through so much over the last 5 days and they really need our help. I'm not sure if any of you have ever had to plan a funeral, but Jennifer and I spent all day today planning the funeral with the gracious help of Jon Daniel at River Cities Funeral Chapel. It was heart-wrenching watching Jessica's mom Sonia and step dad Carlos have to plan the funeral for their 17 year old daughter. They should be looking forward to sending her off to college next year, not having to decide which casket their daughter will be resting in. Even though there is a small life insurance policy, all the funeral fees and plot costs are asked to be paid up front. But thanks to the generosity of Mr. Daniel, he is letting the family pay when the policy funds are issued, which will be about 2-8 weeks from now.

Unfortunately the cemetery isn't as accommodating; this is where your help is critical.

Sonia and Carlos need to come up with $4,000 asap (actually, like tomorrow) to pay for a burial plot....I know these are difficult times for all of us, but if any of you can donate any amount the family would greatly appreciate it and I would considerate a personal favor. I know I have generous and kindhearted friends!

There is no personal tragedy more painful than having to bury your child.
